Makiling Botanic Gardens

Communing with nature is no longer a difficult feat. Urban dwellers can hie off to Los Banos in Laguna, Philippines and step into the natural wonders of a rain forest -- in the Makiling Botanic Gardens. Majestic Lauan trees, the sounds of frogs, the chirp of birds, the trickle of stream water are the only sights and sounds that distract from the utter solitude of the place. Tired souls can enjoy the cool mountain breeze and marvel at the ambience of mystical Mt. Makiling, where the Makiling Botanic Gardens is nestled.

Exotic plants, gurgling brooks and water falls, and the many trails entice travelers to explore the area. Families can use the designated picnic areas and dive into a mountain-cold swimming pool. With the Center for Philippine Raptors also in the place, the Makiling Botanic gardens is a perfect for retreats, educational field trips, and eco-tours.
